CAMPAIGNS
We will equip allies against street harassment with the knowledge and evidence that they need to make change and support transformational discourse. We will highlight connections between street harassment and other forms of discrimination in Bangalore and more broadly, India.
We strongly believe in the fundamental right of every individual to feel safe and secure, in public spaces. The trauma and fear caused by street harassment are unacceptable, and we aim to raise awareness about its damaging effects while emphasizing its links to other forms of discrimination. Our objective is to provide individuals with the necessary information and resources to combat street harassment in their communities.
Through our campaigns, we aim to promote a culture of inclusivity and respect that fosters a sense of value and support for all. Our goal is to encourage people to speak out against street harassment and work together to create safer and more welcoming public spaces. We strive to ensure that the voices of those affected by street harassment are heard and to bring about real change with positive outcomes.
Our ultimate objective is to build a sustainable, intersectional, and robust movement that can effect change in the way we think about and address street harassment in Bangalore and beyond. We believe that by working together, we can create a world where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued, and where discrimination of any kind is unacceptable.
ADVOCACY
We will undertake advocacy in spaces where we have unique access and influence to build an intersectional feminist movement united against street harassment.
For us, achieving safer streets for all can only happen if we change community attitudes and norms surrounding street harassment and promote a model of collective responsibility for public safety.
This means that we will work to create safe spaces for marginalized communities, including women, non-binary folks, and others. We will strive to amplify the voices of those who are most impacted by street harassment, and we will work to educate the public about the harms caused by this pervasive issue. Additionally, we will collaborate with organizations and individuals who share our vision of a world free from street harassment, and we will support policies and legislation that prioritize the safety and well-being of all people.
This means that we must work to create a culture of accountability where bystanders feel empowered to intervene when they witness street harassment. This means that we will collaborate with organizations and individuals who share our vision of a world free from street harassment, and we will support policies and legislation that prioritize the safety and well-being of all people.
Ultimately, our goal is to create a world where everyone can feel safe and respected in public spaces, where everyone is free to move about their lives without fear of harassment or violence. We believe that building a powerful intersectional feminist movement is the key to achieving this vision of street justice for all.
