OUR VISION, VALUES, AND GOALS

Our vision is to create a world where vulnerable communities no longer have to place limitations on their behaviors in order to feel safe when out in public.

We believe in a society where street harassment is recognized as harmful on its own, not just as a step towards more violence. A society where all individuals know what street harassment looks like, how to call it out, and how to safely intervene to stop or prevent it.

VALUES

INTERSECTIONAL

We understand that different power structures can influence how people experience street harassment. By applying an intersectional lens to all our work, we aim to recognize and bring attention to these differences. We also strive to amplify the voices of those who are most marginalized in these discussions and work towards actionable solutions that benefit everyone, regardless of their background.

COMMUNITY-LED

At the heart of our mission is the belief that lasting solutions to street harassment can only arise when the voices of those who are most impacted by the issue are magnified. We aim to provide support to these individuals, creating a safe space where all, including those who have long been marginalized, can openly discuss the issue and share their experiences. Through fostering this sense of community and collaboration, we can develop effective, actionable solutions to this problem that meet the needs of all those affected by it. Our goal is to broaden public understanding of this issue and work towards a world where individuals of all backgrounds feel safe and respected in public spaces.

ACCOUNTABLE AND COMMITTED TO LEARNING

We take pride in conducting our work with honesty and transparency towards our community members, acknowledging the diverse range of views and experiences that exist within it. Our goal is to ensure that we accurately reflect this diversity in everything that we do. However, we understand that we may fall short at times, and that's why we're always open to feedback and honest conversations about how we can improve.

COLLABORATIVE

Our mission to end street harassment requires a collaborative effort. That's why we prioritize establishing strong, open, and trusting relationships with members of our community, local artists, academics, government, other NGOs, and corporations. By amplifying each other's voices, we increase our potential for advocacy and operate from the best practices. Only through a united front can we achieve meaningful change. Together, our voices become impossible to ignore.

TRANSFORMATIVE

To achieve long-lasting, impactful changes, it is essential to address the root causes of a problem. We believe in crafting policies that promote education and cultural change, rather than just responding to the specific behaviors of certain individuals. We are dedicated to developing community-led approaches that can effectively tackle the structural inequalities and power imbalances that fuel street harassment. This will facilitate transformative change not just at an individual level, but also at the community and societal levels.
