HUMAN RIGHTS
Why They Are Not Empty Ideals in Relation to India
Published: 25 September 2024
ABOUT
This toolkit delves into the concept of human rights, outlines the legal framework governing them in India, and highlights key human rights issues currently facing the nation. It examines how social and cultural factors influence the realization of these rights and addresses the lack of accountability for human rights violations, incorporating narratives of lived experiences.
Additionally, the toolkit discusses international human rights mechanisms, the role of civil society and activism, and provides an overview of government programs and policies to protect human rights. It also offers policy recommendations for the Indian government, suggestions for civil society, activists, and individuals, and guidance on how to be an active ally in promoting human rights.
Discover in this community toolkit how we can all work toward a fair world where everyone is heard, rights are honored, and all have equal opportunities.
